In 1979 the first Optik Timur outlet was opened. In 1980-1996 a lens laboratory was organized then expansion of retail outlets and establish Alphamari (a lens distribution company in Malaysia). In 1997 the Lens Laboratory was awarded ISO 9002. In 1999 Alma and CV Timur Raya was awarded ISO 9002. In 2001 CV Timur Raya changed became PT Timur Raya Lestari.
After Drs M.T Dharmawan passed away in 1994, the ownership is passed to his son Alphonsus A Dharmawan together with his wife, Marini Budiman. The Director position now solely resides with Mr A. A. Dharmawan.
To built Timur Raya Lestari as a premier partner in eye care business, we continuously fine tune our strategy, system and structure. A. A. Dharmawan together with his 3 General Managers have a cumulative 30 years of management experience.
